Annamalai Declares He is Not in the Race for Tamil Nadu BJP President Post

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has announced that he is not in the race for the state president position and that the new leader will be chosen collectively by all party members.

Press Meet at Coimbatore Airport

Speaking to the media at Coimbatore Airport, Annamalai addressed key political and legal issues, including the recent Waqf Act amendments.

He stated that Section 40 of the Waqf Act, which allowed government and private properties to be declared as Waqf properties, has been removed. Additionally, all sects of Islam have now been brought under the purview of the Waqf law, ensuring benefits for poor and underprivileged Muslim communities.

New BJP State President Selection

Annamalai confirmed that he is not contesting for the Tamil Nadu BJP President post. He reassured his supporters, saying, “I will remain in Tamil Nadu and will not go anywhere. Even if I visit Delhi, I will stay only for a day and return.”

He further clarified that there is no individual competition for the BJP state president post, and the new leader will be selected collectively by party members.

TASMAC Scam – Arrests Expected

Addressing corruption in Tamil Nadu’s liquor trade, Annamalai alleged that a ₹1,000 crore scam has taken place in TASMAC (state-run liquor shops). He asserted that arrests will definitely happen in connection with the case.
