BJP state president Annamalai has written a letter to Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar demanding the release of 13 fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy.
In his letter, he said,
The Sri Lankan Navy has arrested 13 fishermen from Puducherry and Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam districts of Tamil Nadu who were fishing near Kodiyakarai yesterday, and the Sri Lankan Navy has also seized the boat they were travelling in.
The families of the fishermen have been severely affected by this. Therefore, Annamalai has mentioned in his letter that he is requesting you to take all necessary steps to release the 13 arrested fishermen.
