Are The Chinky Minky Sisters Going Their Separate Ways? Here’s What We Know

Surabhi and Samriddhi Mehra have recently shared the truth behind their emotional post hinting at a separation.

The twin sisters, widely recognized as the Chinky Minky pair on YouTube, recently startled their fans by announcing what seemed like a breakup. This led to an outpouring of concern and sadness from social media users, only for the real story to surface later.

In a recent interaction, the sisters clarified that their vague post was actually part of a promotional strategy. They revealed that it was a marketing move ahead of their upcoming reality TV show, Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, where both would be participating — but as solo contestants.

Surabhi and Samriddhi admitted the post was intended to generate excitement. “First of all, there has been no separation. No one can split up Chinky and Minky,” they told TellyTalkIndia/Zoom.

They went on to say, “Our post was linked to our upcoming show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon. We are appearing together on the show, but as individual participants. No one can break up Chinky and Minky.”

They further clarified, “We will never stop working together. That post was simply for promoting the show. We only wanted to stir up a bit of interest. But we had no idea it would cause such a huge stir. There’s no sibling rift or breakup happening.”

On July 3, the sisters had posted a joint image and message on Instagram that read, “With a heavy heart we are parting ways now as Jodi. We have decided to explore our life on our individual journeys from here on.”

The caption added: “Grateful for everything we’ve shared and excited for what lies ahead. Keep cheering for both of us with your love and blessings.”

Chhoriyan Chali Gaon is set to premiere on Zee TV at the end of July. The show features female celebrities from urban areas who will spend over 60 days in a rural setting. Under the guidance of host Rannvijay Singha, contestants will live without access to technology or luxuries, and take part in traditional chores such as cooking and fetching water, according to reports. Other reported participants include Anita Hassanandani, Aishwarya Khare, and Rameet Sandhu.
