The body of Tamil Nadu Bahujan Samaj Party chief Armstrong was handed over to his family. His body was then taken to his residence in Ayanavaram, Chennai. His body reached home around 12.50 midnight after about 3 and a half hours from Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Chennai. Armstrong’s body was carried in a procession among Bahujan Samaj Party supporters in front and behind the vehicle. Along the way, his supporters came wailing.
Tamil Nadu Bahujan Samaj Party President Armstrong (age 52). He was standing in front of his house and talking to his friends yesterday when 8 mysterious gang members cut him with sickles and ran away. Armstrong was seriously injured and died at the hospital.
This incident caused great shocks all over Tamil Nadu. The police formed 8 special teams and investigated the incident. In this, it was reported that 8 people surrendered at Chennai Anna Nagar Police Station within 4 hours of the incident.
But all 8 of them did not appear at the police station. The police said that they were arrested by the police department. Armstrong’s body was kept at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai for post-mortem. As a result, many policemen were gathered in front of the hospital.
Similarly, Bahujan Samaj Party members also gathered in front of the hospital and protested demanding the arrest of the killers. In this situation, the post mortem was completed at 9 pm today and his body was handed over to his relatives. The party protested that they would buy the body only if they were allowed to bury it at the Bahujan Samaj Party office first.
In this regard, Armstrong’s wife had filed a petition in the Madras High Court. It was reported that a hearing will be held on this petition today. Meanwhile, Armstrong’s body was received by the family. His body was then taken to Armstrong’s old home in Ayanavaram, Chennai.
