Army Chief Taunts Pakistan’s Victory Claim After Operation Sindoor: ‘If You Ask a Pakistani…’
Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday took a pointed dig at Pakistan over its self-proclaimed “victory” following the clashes with India after the launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7.
Speaking at an event in IIT Madras, General Dwivedi highlighted the narrative-building in Pakistan after the four-day conflict, noting that Islamabad had promoted its Army Chief, General Asim Munir, to the rank of five-star General and Field Marshal despite facing setbacks against India.
“If you ask a Pakistani whether they lost or won, he’ll say, ‘Our chief has become a field marshal. We must have won — otherwise, why would he get promoted?’” Dwivedi quipped, drawing laughter from the audience.
