Death toll rises to 56 due to continuous heavy rains and floods in Assam.
Manipur and Assam continue to face dangerous conditions as heavy rains continue to fall in northeastern states. In Assam, 56 people have died and more than 21 lakh people have been affected by the floods.
More than 26 thousand people have taken shelter in the security camp. Similarly, 2 deaths have been reported in Manipur, while more than 2 thousand people have been evacuated from the heavily flooded areas. The central government has said that it is providing full support to the flood-affected states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
