While Sasikala has been releasing audios of people talking to rioters in the AIADMK, the party’s dual leadership has expelled more than 15 people for allegedly violating party control. It is in this context that the next list for weeding out is 2 more executives from Vellore, 2 executives from Tirupattur district and 3 old party figures from Ranipettai district.
They are likely to be fired on the basis of their work in the Assembly elections and the defeat of their party candidates. But the talk in Vellore district is different. The reason is that a number of sources have been collected and handed over to the upper echelons, including audio evidence of a key figure on the Vellore list whipping the AIADMK candidate from the Vellore constituency.
Local senior AIADMK executives who are aware of this, let there be a second phase list. The party would have survived halfway through the removal of Veeramani, the former minister who came to power locally as a petty monarch within the party and amassed assets in Hosur, Bangalore and Yelagiri for the past 5 years. They are lamenting that the party will be ruined if everything is removed from the party for leaving it and talking to Sasikala. They are urging the dual leadership to phase out Veeramani from the party if the party is to stay alive.
