Bahujan Samaj appeals in High Court seeking permission to bury Armstrong’s body at party office

Bahujan Samaj has filed an appeal in the High Court seeking permission to bury the body of its Bahujan Samaj party state president Armstrong, who was assassinated in Chennai, at the Perambur party office.

Armstrong was the Tamil Nadu state president of the Bahujan Samaj Party. Yesterday evening, a gang of 6 persons who came near the house in Perampur, Chennai on a two-wheeler cut him down and fled. Critically injured in the sudden attack, Armstrong was admitted to a private hospital on Geerims Road. But he died yesterday without treatment.

Armstrong’s body has been sent to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai for postmortem. The brutal killing of a national party leader in a public place has sparked huge debates not only in Tamil Nadu but across the country. However, many political leaders are condemning this.

In this case, the Bahujan Samaj has appealed in the High Court to allow Armstrong’s body to be buried at their party office in Perampur, Chennai. The party has said that it has already submitted a petition to the Corporation but has not received any response so far and has appealed.
