Armstrong was the state president of the Tamil Nadu Bahujan Samaj Party. This evening, a gang of 6 persons who came near the house in Perampur, Chennai on a two-wheeler cut him down and fled. Critically injured in the sudden attack, Armstrong was admitted to a private hospital on Geerims Road. But he died without treatment.
Armstrong’s body has been taken to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai for post-mortem. Director B. Ranjith Armstrong, who came to the hospital, cried after seeing the body. Political leaders including Edappadi Palaniswami have strongly condemned the massacre.
