Bahujan Samaj Party Tamil Nadu President Armstrong was hacked to death in Chennai yesterday. Armstrong is the Tamil Nadu state president of the Bahujan Samaj Party. He was 52 years old and lived in Perampur, Chennai. Yesterday evening he was near his house, talking with friends. Then suddenly a gang of two-wheelers cut Armstrong with a scythe and sped away.
Armstrong collapsed in a pool of blood and fought for his life. After that, his friends rescued him and sent him to the hospital. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Greems Road for treatment.
Doctors who examined Armstrong at the hospital declared him already dead. This incident caused great sadness and tension. Bahujan Samaj Party members and his relatives staged a road blockade in Chennai last night to condemn Armstrong’s murder. They insisted that those involved in the case should be arrested.
In this case, 8 people have surrendered to the police in connection with the case. The police are investigating them. Also, the leaders of the opposition parties like Edappadi Palanichamy, Annamalai, Anbumani Ramadoss and many others including Vishika leader Thirumavalavan and Congress leader Selvaperunthakai condemned the incident.
Mayawati is also shocked to hear of Armstrong’s murder. Armstrong, a lawyer, is a leader who has been a strong voice for Dalits in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government should punish the criminals who killed Armstrong,” he said.
In this case, it was reported in the morning that Mayawati will come to Chennai today to pay tribute to Armstrong’s body and offer condolences to his family.
