BJP-AIADMK Alliance Confirmed for 2026 Assembly Elections: Amit Shah

Chennai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has confirmed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections as allies.

Speaking to the media at a private star hotel in Guindy, Chennai, Amit Shah stated that the BJP-AIADMK alliance is firm and that both parties will face the upcoming elections together under the leadership of Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

He further expressed confidence that the BJP-AIADMK alliance will secure a majority of votes and form the next government in Tamil Nadu. “This alliance will bring mutual benefits to both parties and offer a stable alternative for the people of Tamil Nadu,” he said.

Political observers note that this announcement may reshape the dynamics of Tamil Nadu politics, especially amid ongoing discussions around opposition strategies and internal party alignments.
