BJP Youth Wing Stages Protest Demanding Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s Resignation Over Cochin Minerals Scam – Police Use Water Cannons to Disperse Crowd

In a significant political development in Kerala, members of the BJP’s youth wing staged a strong protest in Thiruvananthapuram, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This follows allegations of financial misconduct involving the company Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) and a private firm linked to the Chief Minister’s daughter.

Reports have surfaced claiming that Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd had made questionable financial transactions with a firm allegedly associated with Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter. These payments, which are now under scrutiny, are said to have bypassed standard procedures and legal frameworks, sparking serious allegations of corruption and misuse of power.

In response to this growing controversy, the BJP youth wing organized a protest near the Kerala Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram, demanding that CM Pinarayi Vijayan step down from his position, taking moral and political responsibility for the scandal.

As the protest intensified, police forces deployed at the site attempted to bring the situation under control. In an effort to disperse the demonstrators, they used water cannons. Some protestors were pushed back by the force of the water, while others continued to chant slogans and resisted dispersal.

The protest caused temporary disruptions to traffic and daily activities in the city center. Reports suggest that several participants were detained during the demonstration but were later released.

Senior BJP leaders in the state have expressed their strong condemnation of the alleged corruption and have vowed to continue their agitation until a proper investigation is conducted and accountability is ensured. They insist that the Chief Minister must resign immediately to allow an unbiased probe into the matter.
