BJP is leading in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Elections were held on the 5th for the 70-member Delhi Assembly. Parties including the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress contested in this election.
In this situation, the counting of votes in the election began at 8 am. BJP is leading in 48 seats and Aam Aadmi Party in 22 seats.
Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who contested from the New Delhi constituency, suffered defeat.
Speaking to reporters in this regard, Shaniti, daughter of BJP candidate from the New Delhi Assembly constituency Parvesh Verma, thanked the people of New Delhi for giving her the opportunity to serve for the next five years.
“We are very happy that my father has become an MLA. We have always accepted the posts given to him by the party and we will accept it happily this time too,” said Shaniti.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia lost by a margin of about 600 votes. Later, he told reporters that the party workers had done a good job. He congratulated the winning candidate and said that he hoped he would work for the constituency.
In Greater Kailash constituency, Aam Aadmi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj is trailing BJP’s Shikha Rai by a margin of 4,440 votes.
In Kalkaji constituency, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is trailing BJP’s Ramesh Biduri by a margin of 2,800 votes.
