AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s Delhi residence was splattered with black ink. The incident took place amid controversy over his chanting of “Jai Palestine” in the Lok Sabha when he was sworn in as an MP.

Asaduddin Owaisi is the leader of AIMIM. He has been an MP from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency since 2004.

Having won in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019, he once again contested and won the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections from Hyderabad.

Owaisi got 6,61,981 votes in this election. BJP candidate Kombella Madhavi Latha who contested against him got 3,23,894 votes. Congress candidate Mohammad Waliullah Sameer got just 62,962 votes. Owaisi won again with a margin of 3,38,087 votes. With this, he has become an MP from Hyderabad constituency for the 5th time.

The Lok Sabha session started on the 24th. Subsequently, all those who won the election were sworn in as MPs. Asaduddin Owaisi also took oath as MP. At this point he chanted “Jai Palestine”. Notably, it encouraged Islamic extremism. The BJP and its allies protested strongly when he was elected as an MP in India and raised slogans in favor of another country.

Owaisi has made it a habit to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders from every platform. In this case, they are suspicious of the BJP.
