Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge will attend the ceremony as Narendra Modi is sworn in for the third term today.
The BJP did not get a majority in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. However, the BJP-led NDA alliance has secured a majority. Hence, Narendra Modi requested President Draupadi Murmu to form the government by giving a list of supporting MPs. With the President also calling for government formation, Narendra Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister again this evening.
After Nehru, Modi takes office with the honor of becoming the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term. The pillars of the Prime Ministership and the NDA regime are Nitish Kumar’s United Janata Dal and Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam parties. If the MPs of these two parties are deducted, the NDA alliance will have only 260 MPs left. 272 seats are required to form the government.
So the BJP is putting up with both of them. The BJP has come forward to save the government by saying that it is ready to do whatever is asked. So using this opportunity both the parties are targeting the most important portfolios in the central cabinet. In other words, information has been leaked that two MPs belonging to United Janata Dal have been reserved in the central cabinet.
Thus, 30 ministers will take oath today with Narendra Modi. Various political leaders have also been invited to participate in this swearing-in ceremony. In this case, the leader of the party Mallikarjuna Kharge will participate on behalf of the Congress. The Congress-led India Alliance has won 234 seats in this election. It has won 99 seats alone. This is 2 times more than last election.
In this case, the Congress leader will participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi on the invitation. Rajinikanth has also said that he will participate in this function. A total of 9000 people participate in this festival. The ceremony starts at 7.15 pm and lasts for about 2 hours.
Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Mohamed Muizu, Seychelles Vice President Ahmed Afif, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagnath, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prasanda’ and Bhutan Prime Minister Shering Topke will also sit in the front row.
Similarly, the ministers who have to take oath of office are also reserved a place in the front row. 10 Loco pilots have also been invited for this function. In 2014, when Modi was sworn in, the leaders of the SAARC countries participated. Similarly, it is noteworthy that the leaders of BIMSTEC countries participated in the swearing-in ceremony in 2019.
