Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that he cannot open water to Tamil Nadu.
An emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. State Irrigation Minister DK Sivakumar and Public Works Department officials participated in this.
Speaking later, Siddaramaiah said that there is a 28 percent water shortage in the Cauvery irrigation area, and despite Karnataka’s insistence, the regulatory committee has ordered to release water to Tamil Nadu. Siddaramaiah also said that an all-party meeting will be held on July 14 regarding the Cauvery issue.
