Chief Minister M.K.Stalin to inaugurate 1,000 Chief Minister’s Dispensaries across Tamil Nadu today.

Chief Minister M.K.Stalin will inaugurate 1,000 Chief Minister’s Dispensaries across Tamil Nadu today (Monday). Chief Minister MK Stalin will inaugurate the Chief Minister’s Dispensaries at a function in Chennai. It has been informed that generic and other medicines and tablets will be available at low prices in these dispensaries.

During the Independence Day celebrations held last year, Chief Minister MK Stalin announced that Chief Minister’s Dispensaries would be started in Tamil Nadu to make generic medicines and other medicines available to the people at low prices.

The Cooperatives Department announced that those who have completed B.Pharm or D.Pharm courses and obtained a certificate or those who want to set up a dispensary with their approval can apply to set up a Chief Minister’s Dispensary.

Following this, more than 2,000 people applied to set up a Chief Minister’s Dispensary at various places across Tamil Nadu. Accordingly, permission has been given to 1,000 pharmacies in Tamil Nadu in the first phase. That is, 500 pharmacies will be opened through cooperative societies and 500 pharmacies through entrepreneurs.

Pharmacies have been set up in all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu. 33 Chief Minister’s pharmacies have been set up in Chennai alone.

Minister of Cooperatives Periyakaruppan has said that quality medicines will be provided here at affordable prices, which are not available in any other pharmacies, including the Prime Minister’s People’s Pharmacy.

In this context, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate the Chief Minister’s Pharmacy set up by the Cooperatives Department in Pondy Bazaar, Chennai today (Monday) at 10 am and start the sale of medicines. After this, M.K. Stalin will also participate in a program to be held at the Anna Centenary Library in Kotturpuram.

Speaking at a press conference earlier, DMK MLA Ezhilan said, “The Chief Minister’s Pharmacy will be inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin tomorrow (today). In order to reduce the high medical expenses of the middle class people in private hospitals, a thousand Chief Minister’s pharmacies are to be opened in the first phase.

After that, the number of Chief Minister’s pharmacies will be increased. The government will provide a subsidy of up to 3 lakhs for opening Chief Minister’s pharmacies. Chief Minister’s pharmacies will be opened to reduce the economic burden of the middle class people and medicines will be provided at low prices.

The medicines will be tested and quality medicines will be provided to the people. According to the Chief Minister’s pharmacies to be opened in a thousand places across Tamil Nadu to benefit the poor and the simple people, medicines will be available at a price of 75 percent less. For example, a pill available for Rs. 70 in private pharmacies will be available for just Rs. 11 in Chief Minister’s Pharmacy.

The people will get the necessary benefits only if there is education and health in the state list. We are following the system of prescribing branded medicines instead of prescribing generic medicines in private hospitals. Therefore, the Tamil Nadu government is currently starting CM pharmacies to sell generic medicines to compensate for the economic loss caused to the people.

Even if CM pharmacies are opened, the Amma pharmacies opened during the AIADMK regime will not be closed. The welfare schemes of the people will continue to be implemented no matter which government brings them. There is nothing wrong in opening a welfare scheme of the people on the birthday of the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, he had said.
