Chief Minister Stalin Skips PM Modi’s Event, Visits Nilgiris Instead: Annamalai Criticizes “Authoritarian Approach”
In a major development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first vertical lift railway bridge at Pamban today, along with launching several other developmental projects. However, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s absence from this significant event has sparked sharp political criticism.
Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam CM Stalin for not attending the event, accusing him of prioritizing a state-level program and going on a tour to the Nilgiris instead.
Annamalai stated, “The Chief Minister skipped a nationally important event presided over by the Prime Minister and chose to go on a trip, citing a state event as an excuse. This reflects a clear disregard for cooperative federalism.”
He further accused the DMK regime of following an “authoritarian approach” and asserted that the people of Tamil Nadu are growing tired of it. “This kind of governance will come to an end in 2026,” Annamalai declared confidently.
“The countdown for political change in Tamil Nadu has already begun,” he added, expressing faith that the people would elect a capable and development-oriented leader in the upcoming 2026 assembly elections.
This strong criticism adds to the mounting political tensions in Tamil Nadu, as the BJP intensifies its campaign against the ruling DMK in the lead-up to the next election.
