A Class 7 student in Bengaluru died by suicide, and police are examining a possible connection to the Japanese web series Death Note.

A student of Class 7 died by suicide in Bengaluru, with initial findings pointing to a potential influence of the popular Japanese web series Death Note.

The incident occurred in the CK Acchukattu locality during the night between August 3 and 4. Following the incident, police initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.

Investigations revealed that the minor was a regular viewer of the series and had drawn a character from the show on a wall in his room.

This specific detail has prompted authorities to explore whether the content of the series might have impacted his mental state.

According to the boy’s parents, he was not known to be facing any issues either at school or at home, and the precise reason behind his drastic action remains uncertain.

Police are continuing their investigation and have confiscated the boy’s mobile phone for forensic examination.

For those unaware, Death Note follows the story of a high school student who stumbles upon a mysterious notebook called the “Death Note,” which grants its possessor the supernatural power to kill anyone by writing their name in it.

The series focuses on the student’s use of the notebook to eliminate people he considers immoral, in an attempt to establish a crime-free world, and the efforts of a Japanese police task force to track him down.

Another Incident in Delhi

In a separate case, the body of a 10-year-old boy was discovered hanging from an iron pipe inside his house in Ambika Vihar Colony, Delhi, on August 3.

As per the Delhi Police, the boy was addicted to mobile games.

A review of the mobile phone recovered from the scene showed that the boy had been using it for nearly 10 to 11 hours. He spent around seven hours playing games and about four hours watching YouTube videos.

The child’s father informed the police that on July 31, the boy did not attend school due to heavy rainfall.

Both parents had gone to work that morning, and upon returning home in the evening, they found their son’s body hanging from an iron pipe using a dupatta.
