Death toll rises to 55 after drinking illict liquor in Kallakurichi

In Kallakurichi, the number of people who have died due to drinking illict liquor is increasing. While 52 people died till last night, the death toll increased to 55 today. More than 100 people are being treated and the death toll is expected to rise.

Illict liquor was sold in Karunapuram, Kallakurichi district. More than 150 people have been affected by buying and drinking this illict liquor. They became ill after drinking alcohol mixed with methanol.

They were admitted to the hospital due to sudden vomiting, fainting and stomach problems. More than 150 people were receiving treatment at Kallakurichi Government Medical College, Salem Government Hospital, Villupuram Government Hospital and Puducherry Jibmar Hospital.

In this case, they are dying one by one without treatment. A total of 52 people were killed till last night. In this case, 3 people have been killed in the early hours of this morning. Due to this, the number of victims of counterfeiting has increased to 55.

In other words, 3 people, including Paramasivam and Kalyana Sundaram, who were undergoing treatment at Kallakurichi Government Medical College Hospital, died early this morning without treatment. More than 20 people are being treated in life-threatening conditions. And some are said to have lost their eyesight.

In this situation, the Tamil Nadu government has taken special measures to save those who are undergoing treatment for drinking illict liquor. Health Minister Ma Subramanian is speeding up the process of providing treatment by camping in Kallakurichi. Along with this, the health department is conducting intensive tests by going door to door in Karunapuram.
