Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been officially arrested by the CBI in the case of liquor policy abuse.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the enforcement department in March last year and lodged in Tihar Jail on charges of malpractice in implementing Delhi’s liquor policy.

While the CBI has also taken over the case, the CBI filed a petition in the Delhi Special Court seeking permission to interrogate Kejriwal. The petition came up for hearing before Vacation Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat.

The judge then allowed the CBI to investigate Kejriwal. Accordingly, the CBI officers officially arrested him and took him to the court premises. Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal was present in the court during the trial.
