The DMK government is repeating the same lie it told two years ago that it has hiked the electricity tariff to get funds from the Central government’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
In this regard, we met the journalists in July 2022 and informed the people of Tamil Nadu about DMK’s diversionary efforts.

Value of Power Purchases made by Tamil Nadu Power Generation and Distribution Corporation from Private.
2021-22: Rs 39,365 crore
2022-23: Rs 50,990 crore

Value of private power procurement by DMK government in last three years: Rs 1,55,355 crore.
DMK has not done any work under the RDSS scheme in the last two years but has only increased the electricity tariff.
