Due to the violence in Bangladesh, many are trying to enter India.
The Border Security Force received a tip-off that 6 persons were trying to enter the Indian border through the East Jain India Hills of Meghalaya. Following this, the Indian security forces launched a search and arrested them in Ratchera area.
Investigation revealed that 4 of them were from Bangladesh and 2 were local residents who helped them cross the border. The arrested have since been handed over to the local police. The police are investigating them.
The Border Security Force has stepped up security in the wake of reports that many victims of the violence in Bangladesh are trying to cross the border into India.
