Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has been chosen as NATO Secretary General.
Current NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s term ends on 31 August.
In turn, Mark Rudd was unanimously elected in the poll.
His rival, Romanian President Klaus Löhnnis, withdrew his candidacy at the last minute.
Mark Rudd’s term as Prime Minister of the Netherlands is coming to an end soon. It is reported that he will take over as NATO Secretary General in October.
