Enforcement Directorate freezes Rs.14.21 crore property belonging to Minister Ponmudi….

Higher Education Minister Ponmudi and M.P. The Enforcement Directorate has frozen assets worth Rs 14.21 crore belonging to Gautam Chikamani.

During the DMK regime in 2006-11, there was a complaint that the government had taken out the semman quarry in Putura village, Vanur taluka, Villupuram district, by auctioning it and taking too much semman, causing loss of revenue to the government. A case was registered against Minister Ponmudi for illegal money transfer.

Already in this case, search was conducted at Minister Ponmudi’s residence and he was interrogated.

In this case, the Enforcement Department has ordered the freezing of movable and immovable assets worth Rs.14.21 crore owned by Ponmudi and his son Gauthamashigamani.

Also, the Enforcement Department has taken this action in the case of excessive dumping of Semman in the quarries, according to the Enforcement Department X record.
