“Equal Education is Our Right” – BJP’s Signature Campaign Crosses 1 Million Signatures
The BJP-led “Equal Education is Our Right” signature campaign in Tamil Nadu has received massive support, surpassing one million signatures within just five days of its launch.
Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai expressed his happiness and gratitude to the public for their overwhelming participation in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Massive Public Support
Since its launch, the campaign has seen participation both in person and online, with people signing up in large numbers. The BJP had set a target of collecting 10 million (1 crore) signatures, and reaching 1 million (10 lakh) within just five days is seen as a significant milestone.
Annamalai stated that this growing support proves that Tamil Nadu will eventually adopt the three-language policy, and he criticized the ruling DMK government’s dual stance on education.
Criticism of DMK’s Education Policy
The BJP has positioned this campaign as a direct challenge to the DMK government’s education policies. Annamalai alleged that the ruling party has deceived underprivileged and economically weaker sections by maintaining an education system that favors private institutions while neglecting government schools.
He further stated that Chief Minister Stalin may try various tactics to oppose this movement, but the overwhelming support from the people will ensure that the three-language policy is implemented in Tamil Nadu.
BJP’s Efforts for Equal Education
With the implementation of India’s New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the BJP has been actively promoting equal access to quality education and advocating for the three-language policy in Tamil Nadu. The party argues that the current education system in the state benefits private schools, while government schools continue to suffer from poor infrastructure and a lack of resources.
Public Expectations
The ongoing participation of people in this campaign reflects the growing demand for equal education, quality schooling, and the adoption of the three-language policy.
Now, all eyes are on how soon the BJP will reach its goal of 10 million signatures and how the Tamil Nadu government will respond to this movement.
