From Poverty to Rs 200-Crore Business: Neetu Singh’s Journey & Her ‘Famous’ Husband’s Betrayal

Brought up in poverty and later betrayed by her husband, Neetu Singh rebuilt her life from the ground up to establish a ₹200-crore education business.

Popularly known as Neetu Ma’am, she is a renowned English educator and the founder of KD Campus, a reputed coaching institute. But behind her successful image lies a tale of struggle, grit, and determination. Born in Giridih, Jharkhand, Neetu lost her father in a tragic road accident when she was just three years old. Raised by her mother and elder brother, she grew up in a financially struggling household along with her six sisters.

Despite the financial challenges, Neetu’s mother made sure that her daughter received a proper education. She studied at Carmel Convent, Giridih, and later at St. John’s School in Varanasi. Determined to make something of her life, Neetu completed her graduation from Vinoba Bhave University and later pursued LLB from the reputed Campus Law Centre at Delhi University.

The Dream of a Coaching Institute and a Painful Betrayal

In 2005, Neetu started her first coaching centre. The following year, she got married to Rajiv Soumitra. Together, they launched Paramount Coaching Centre, which rapidly grew into a huge success, ultimately becoming a ₹200-crore enterprise. Alongside teaching, Neetu authored a popular grammar book, English Volume 1, which continues to be widely used by aspirants preparing for competitive exams.

However, things took a distressing turn in 2015. Neetu alleged that her husband sent bouncers to attack her and forcefully evict her from Paramount, even though she was the co-founder and held a 50% stake in the institute.

The incident left many shocked — but Neetu refused to give up.

The Birth of KD Campus and KD Live

Later that same year, Neetu established KD Campus in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi, naming it in honour of her late father Kishore Dev. The institute soon rose to become one of the top coaching centres for government job exam preparation, producing thousands of successful candidates.

In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted traditional learning, Neetu launched an online platform named KD Live. Her YouTube channel gained nearly 2 million subscribers, and her digital initiatives enabled lakhs of students to continue their preparation from home.

As reported by Moneycontrol, Neetu is also actively involved in social work, providing support to orphans, senior citizens, and economically weaker families, showing that her mission extends beyond education.

A Strong Voice for Students

In 2025, Neetu Ma’am emerged as a leading voice during the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) protest movement. Her active support inspired thousands of aspirants to demand justice and transparency in recruitment exams. Her life journey — shaped by early poverty, personal grief, and betrayal — has now become a symbol of strength and empowerment.

From a girl battling hardships to becoming a household name in the field of education, Neetu Singh’s story stands as a powerful reminder that determination, courage, and resilience can overcome even the toughest challenges.
