Here’s How Ishita Ganguly Is Contributing to the Environment — And How You Can Too

Ishita Ganguly shares the simple yet impactful practices she follows that help support the environment.

On June 5, the world united to celebrate Environment Day, with people taking small but meaningful actions—ranging from tree planting to encouraging eco-conscious habits—to safeguard the Earth. Among those who participated were the main cast members of Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain—Diksha Dhami, Sheel Verma, and Ishita Ganguly—who took time out from their hectic filming schedule to join a special tree plantation drive near their shooting location. The activity was a heartfelt gesture in honour of Mother Earth, as each actor planted saplings and committed to continue making eco-friendly decisions for a better, greener future.

In a conversation with IANS, actress Ishita Ganguly, who plays the character Chamkili in the series, spoke about her experience, saying, “For me, Environment Day isn’t just a single-day event—it’s about the everyday decisions we make, no matter how small.”

She went on to add, “Planting those saplings near our set felt very meaningful. I’ve always found calmness in nature—the rustle of leaves, the aroma of wet earth after a rain, or just watching the sky during sunset. Nature reminds me of what’s truly important.”

During the same interview, Ishita also spoke about the little but purposeful habits she incorporates in her routine that help the environment. She shared, “To prevent future harm, I carry a reusable water bottle, stay away from plastic, reuse what I can, and plant at least one sapling every year. These actions might appear small, but when done with thoughtfulness, they have a significant impact.”

Reflecting on nature’s ability to heal, the actress remarked, “We often chase miracles in big milestones or distant lands, but in truth, Earth is the greatest miracle. It nurtures our body and soul in unique ways. If we don’t protect this miracle today, we might lose it forever. I want to keep walking barefoot on cool grass, watching butterflies dance around flowers, and breathing fresh, clean air. Let’s not wait for change—let’s become the change. Happy Environment Day!”

As for Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain, the show airs Monday through Saturday at 9:00 PM on Shemaroo Umang. With its captivating plot, strong performances, and high-quality production, the series has quickly gained popularity among viewers. Set in the majestic surroundings of a traditional haveli, the drama explores themes like love, power, societal norms, and personal journeys.

Alongside Diksha, Sheel, and Ishita Ganguly, the cast also features Ektaa BP Singh and Gaurav Savita in pivotal roles.
