High-Level Meeting Chaired by Amit Shah Following Terror Attack in Jammu & Kashmir

The recent terror attack in the Pahalgam area of Jammu & Kashmir has sent shockwaves across the nation. In response to this grave incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah swiftly flew from New Delhi to Srinagar, acting on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Upon arrival, Amit Shah chaired a high-level security meeting in Srinagar. The meeting was attended by Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and several senior officials from the Home Ministry, intelligence agencies, and the armed forces.

During the meeting, Omar Abdullah provided a detailed briefing on the circumstances of the attack — including the timing, location, and any lapses in security. He emphasized the need for immediate and coordinated action to prevent such incidents in the future.

The government has promised full support to the victims and their families, and urgent steps are being taken to track down the perpetrators. Security across sensitive regions of the country has been heightened as a precaution.

This attack raises serious concerns about the resurgence of terrorism in the valley. In response, the Union Home Ministry, state administration, and national security agencies are working in tandem to assess vulnerabilities and implement stronger security protocols.
