Hindi TV actress teased for wanting to gift daughter a sex doll on her 16th birthday
Gauthami Kapoor said she wants her daughter to understand sexual matters, unlike the way she was raised, and that awareness is needed to avoid future problems. The controversy has erupted after TV actress Gautami Kapoor revealed in a recent interview that she considered gifting her daughter Sia a sex doll on her 16th birthday. The comment, made in a candid conversation, later went viral, drew harsh criticism and sparked a wave of trolling on social media.
Gautami explained in the interview that she was thinking about what to gift her daughter when she turns 16. She considered options including a sex doll or a vibrator.
When Gautami brought up the matter with Sia, her daughter initially laughed and replied, “Mom, are you crazy?” “I immediately told her, how many mothers talk to their daughters about these things? I wanted my daughter to know and understand sexual matters, unlike my upbringing. I want her to be informed and experienced so that Sia doesn’t have any problems in the future.”
Currently, Gautami’s daughter is 19 years old and she also has a son. Gautami noted that her daughter now appreciates the open conversation about sex education, which most mothers avoid talking about.
Since Gautami’s revelation, social media has been flooded with a variety of comments, many of them critical. One user commented, “16 is too young for this. A 21st birthday would have been more appropriate.” Another user criticized the idea, suggesting that there should be laws governing parenting.
Even giving such a gift to a 16-year-old is absurd and not in line with Western thought, and some argued that it reflects a lack of proper education.
Marriage law expert Mayank Parmi pointed out that Gautami’s idea is not valid under Indian law, where the age of consent for women is 18.
Other users said that Bollywood stars only focus on topics like sex, lust and drugs, neglecting to build character. Critics also questioned Gautami’s reasoning for gifting a vibrator instead of focusing on education or social contributions. Some sarcastically said that such parenting methods would make parenting easier by avoiding traditional explanations.
The uproar over Gautami’s statement continues, with some users calling for her to be sent to a mental hospital and accusing her of spreading harmful ideas.
