It has been found that pregnant women and children are more affected by the second wave than the first wave by the corona. This was revealed in a comparative study conducted by ICMR on the impact of the first two Govit-19 waves in India. The risk among pregnant women and breastfeeding women during the first waves of corona was 14.2 percent, according to the ICMR.
The corona virus, which originated in China in 2019, had 2020 under its control. The nations of the world declared Lockdown. The corona is slightly constricted.
In 2021 the corona began to strike with a second wave of doom. Many were affected, including infants, infants, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Many young children lost their parents. Many boys died.
ICMR has studied and compared the impact of the first two corona waves in India. Had increased by 28.7 per cent during the second wave.
The mortality rate among pregnant women during the second wave was 5.7 percent. The study found that the first wave was many times higher than the 0.7 percent.
This study emphasized the importance of vaccination among pregnant and lactating women.
The government has not yet allowed such women to be vaccinated due to lack of data on clinical trials. Overall, 2% of pregnant women were estimated to die during both waves.
Meanwhile, a report released last week stressed a strong opinion that pregnant and lactating women should be vaccinated on a priority basis.
It is important to note the problem that exists in protecting such women as pregnant women are known to be at a higher risk of developing complications related to the severe corona virus compared to non-pregnant women.
The report notes that the vaccine provides reliable protection against acute coronavirus infection. Of the top 20 countries most affected by corona, about nine countries allow pregnant women to be vaccinated. Two of those countries have given priority to vaccinating pregnant women.
At the same time India and Indonesia have insisted that pregnant women should not be included in the vaccine. It is noteworthy that the government has not yet made a final decision on whether to vaccinate pregnant women against the corona virus.
