India Strikes Terror Camps in Pakistan: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Holds High-Level Meeting with Military Chiefs
In a strong retaliatory move, the Indian Armed Forces have launched a precision strike on terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22.
The attack in Pahalgam resulted in the death of 26 tourists, and was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy group of the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. The brutal incident reignited tensions between India and Pakistan, raising serious concerns over cross-border terrorism.
In response, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh vowed strong action against the perpetrators. Staying true to that promise, India carried out a late-night surgical operation, targeting multiple terror camps across the border. The operation has been code-named “Operation Sindhoor.”
According to official sources, the Indian military targeted nine terrorist hideouts, and three terrorists were reportedly killed in the strikes. The Ministry of Defence stated that the action was “a measure of justice” in response to the heinous Pahalgam attack.
The Indian Army, through its official social media handle on X (formerly Twitter), declared:
“Pahalgam terror attack — Justice delivered. Jai Hind. Operation Sindhoor.”
Following the strike, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a high-level meeting with the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force to review the situation and to plan the next phase of strategic action. Reports indicate that discussions also involved assessing the current security threats and preparing for any potential retaliatory actions from across the border.
India’s swift response is being seen as a clear signal that terrorism will not be tolerated and that Pakistan’s continued support for terrorist networks will have serious consequences. The government has emphasized its commitment to national security and asserted that it will take decisive action to protect its citizens.
Analysts believe the strike has served as both a tactical success and a political message, reaffirming India’s stand on zero tolerance towards terrorism. With tensions running high, both countries are now on high alert, but India’s military and intelligence agencies are fully prepared for any contingency.
This latest development marks a crucial point in India’s counter-terrorism efforts and showcases the government’s resolve to maintain peace and stability in the region by any means necessary.
