India captain Mithali Raj has surpassed former England captain Charlotte Edwards in the list of highest run scorers in international women’s cricket overall.
The 3rd and final ODI between India and England women’s teams was played on Saturday. The Indian team won by 4 wickets due to the excellent performance of Mithali Raj. Mithali Raj was unbeaten on 75 before reaching the target.
Mithali Raj, who hit a four in the 23rd over of the innings, became the highest run-scorer in international women’s cricket overall.
Earlier, England captain Charlotte Edwards topped the list with 10,273 runs. Mithali Raj has broken this record.
They are the only two players to score more than 10,000 runs in international women’s cricket.
