Indian Forces Shot Down 5 Pakistani Fighter Jets and Another Aircraft During Operation Sindoor: IAF Chief
The IAF chief has disclosed information regarding the aircraft losses suffered by Pakistan during India’s Operation Sindoor from May 7 to May 10.
In a significant revelation about Operation Sindoor, Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh stated on Saturday that India’s air defence surface-to-air missile systems had destroyed five Pakistani fighter jets along with an AEW&C/ELINT aircraft, which is a specialised military plane used for airborne surveillance and early warning.
He mentioned that some parked F-16 jets were destroyed in Jacobabad, as well as an AEW&C aircraft at Bholari.
His comments were made while delivering the Air Chief Marshal LM Katre lecture in Bengaluru, marking the first occasion when an official spoke in detail about the extent of damage Pakistan faced in terms of aircraft and platforms.
Further disclosing details, the IAF chief said the target buildings were identified prior to India’s retaliatory strikes on May 7, following the Pahalgam terror attack.
He added that the precision of the damage inflicted by the Indian operation was confirmed using satellite imagery.
“The AEW&C/ELINT aircraft was shot down from a distance of 300 km. The accuracy of the damage was assessed through satellite pictures,” he said.
