Tamil Nadu Governor R.N.Ravi has said that it is unfair to deny permission to study any southern language in the name of opposing Hindi.
In a post in this regard, he said that he had interacted with a large number of local leaders from various sectors including education, business, healthcare, hospitality, youth start-ups and women entrepreneurs, MSMEs and students from various educational institutions from South Tamil Nadu.
He said that it was encouraging to see their positive energy and entrepreneurial spirit to change lives for the better despite numerous difficulties and procedural hurdles.
He said that this region is rich in human potential and natural resources, but it feels neglected and backward.
Despite the huge potential for industrialization, the people here feel neglected. He also said that the problems of drug abuse among the youth are serious.
He said that contrary to the planned protests in the media headlines, there is a great need to implement the National Education Policy 2020 and that the youth of this region feel deprived compared to the youth of neighbouring states due to the strict dual language policy of the state government.
Unfortunately, they feel that they are not allowed to study any of the southern languages in the name of opposing Hindi. This is truly unfair, he said. Governor R.N.Ravi said that our youth should have the choice to study the language.
