Landslide in Tiruvannamalai district… Govt and rescue teams need to act quickly… TTV Dhinakaran

AIADMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran has urged immediate action to rescue seven individuals trapped in a landslide near the base of Tiruvannamalai Hill.

In his statement, he mentioned:

“Due to the continuous rainfall caused by Cyclone Fenjal in Tiruvannamalai district, a landslide occurred, causing rocks from the hilltop to roll down and hit residential areas at the foothills. Reports suggest that seven people, including five children, are trapped under the debris caused by the landslide.

In this critical situation, the Tamil Nadu government must expedite rescue operations to safely retrieve those trapped. Despite the cyclone crossing the coast, heavy rains in districts like Villupuram, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, and Krishnagiri have severely impacted agriculture and submerged residential areas, disrupting the daily lives of the people.

Therefore, the government should not only prioritize the rescue of the seven trapped individuals but also announce immediate relief measures for farmers and citizens whose lives have been drastically affected by the heavy rains.”

His statement highlights the urgent need for rescue and relief measures, emphasizing the importance of addressing the plight of the affected residents and ensuring their safety and rehabilitation.
