Georgina Rodríguez on Monday announced her engagement to Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to an Argentine father and Spanish mother, Georgina grew up with her elder sister, living with her paternal relatives.
At the age of 18, she moved to Madrid, taking up retail jobs during the day and working at a bar on weekends to support herself.
Tragedy struck when her mother died in a car accident during Georgina’s teenage years. Her father, often in and out of prison for drug trafficking, left her with added responsibilities at a young age.
Georgina had trained as a ballet dancer from the age of four, but financial needs led her to take up various jobs. She worked as a waitress in Jaca and later moved to Bristol, England, where she worked as a nanny, earning just £125 a week.
Her life took a dramatic turn when she achieved fame, building a career as a model and influencer. She has appeared in campaigns for brands such as Gucci, Prada, and Chanel. She has also partnered with major beauty brands, launched her own athleisure line, and starred in the Netflix docu-series I Am Georgina, offering an intimate look into her personal and professional life.
Georgina met Ronaldo in 2016 while working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid. The couple welcomed their first daughter in November 2017. In October 2021, they announced they were expecting twins, but tragically, one of the babies did not survive.
