Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has consulted on the inclusion of 22 more green projects under the Bharatmala project.

The contract for construction of 12,413 km of roads under 322 projects under the Bharatmala Project has been awarded till August last year. In addition, 2,921 km of roads have been newly constructed.
Considered one of the ambitious projects of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, the national highway project starts in Gujarat, Rajasthan and goes to Punjab and connects Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
