Minister Sekar Babu Must Resign: Demands Hindu Munnani State Leader Kadeswara Subramaniam

The Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department has come under severe criticism for its alleged inefficiency in managing temple administration, maintenance, and ensuring basic facilities. Hindu Munnani State President Kadeswara Subramaniam has strongly demanded the resignation of Minister Sekar Babu, holding him accountable for the department’s failures.

Key Points of the Statement

  1. Failure of HR&CE Department:
Kadeswara Subramaniam, in his statement, accused the HR&CE Department of failing miserably in its primary responsibilities, such as maintaining temples and conducting timely rituals like “Kumbhabhishekam” (consecration ceremonies). He emphasized that even basic tasks are not being carried out efficiently.
  2. Court Orders Ignored:
He pointed out that the Madras High Court had once again directed the HR&CE Department to renovate the Vijaya Varadaraja Perumal Temple in Baburajanpettai, Chengalpattu district. This, he stated, highlights the department’s negligence and inefficiency in fulfilling its duties.
  3. Lack of Basic Amenities:
Subramaniam highlighted complaints from the public regarding the lack of basic facilities at the Yoga Narasimha Swamy Hill Temple in Sholingur. Such issues reflect the department’s inability to ensure the welfare of devotees visiting the temples.
  4. Ineffective Administration:
Despite repeated reprimands from both the judiciary and the general public, no significant changes or improvements have been observed in the HR&CE Department, according to Subramaniam. This, he said, demonstrates the lack of competent leadership within the department.

Allegations of Cover-Ups:

Subramaniam further accused the HR&CE Department of attempting to cover up its failures by shifting the blame onto the public instead of addressing the real issues in temple management and administration.

Call for Resignation:

Given the ongoing inefficiency and lack of accountability, Kadeswara Subramaniam demanded the resignation of Minister Sekar Babu. He stressed that only a complete overhaul of the HR&CE Department’s functioning could restore the public’s trust and ensure the proper maintenance of temples across Tamil Nadu.

Public Expectations:

Subramaniam concluded by urging the government to prioritize the welfare of temples and devotees. He called for immediate reforms to ensure that temples are well-maintained, properly managed, and accessible to the public with all necessary facilities.

This demand has sparked discussions about the accountability of the HR&CE Department and the need for better governance in temple administration.
