More Than Just a Spy Drama, Karan Tacker Says Special Ops Changed His Career
Karan Tacker talks about his strong connection with Neeraj Pandey, describing their creative teamwork as one of the most important parts of his acting career.
The trailer for the much-anticipated show Special Ops 2 has been released at last, and fans are thrilled to see Karan Tacker return to the screen.
This is the third part of Neeraj Pandey’s intense action-spy series, with Karan once again playing the beloved character Farooq Ali — a RAW officer who operates in dangerous, high-stress environments. Farooq Ali continues to be one of the most memorable roles of Karan’s journey, and he has performed it with great commitment and nuance.
Karan has frequently worked with Neeraj over the past few years. Speaking about their connection, he said, “Getting a script from Neeraj Sir is one of the biggest achievements for me. After my television days, this was exactly the kind of role I had been looking for — and I couldn’t have hoped for a better collaboration than working with Neeraj Sir.”
He also remembered a chat he had with Neeraj Pandey back when Special Ops 1 had just come out. He shared, “He asked me how I felt about the feedback. I said it was wonderful. Then he asked, what if the audience hadn’t reacted that way? Would it still feel good? I said yes, because I truly enjoyed filming it. That’s when he told me that the main thing to take away from any project is the experience of making it. That message has stuck with me since then.”
Regarding Special Ops 2, the creators have confirmed that the new season will start streaming on JioCinema from July 11.
The official description of the trailer states: “One is a fearless hero, the other a deadly terror mastermind. In a battle against time, Himmat Singh and his squad are on a mission to close a 19-year-old hunt.”
The show brings back its main cast, including Kay Kay Menon as Himmat Singh, Karan Tacker as Farooq Ali, Vinay Pathak as Abbas Sheikh, and Vipul Gupta as Balakrishna “Bala” Reddy, among others.
