MP Delegation Led by BJP’s Baijayant Panda Reaches Bahrain – India Showcases Its Continued Stand Against Terrorism
In a strategic diplomatic initiative aimed at strengthening India’s relations with West Asian countries, a high-level parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda has arrived in Bahrain. The primary purpose of this visit is to highlight India’s continued and resolute fight against terrorism while also enhancing bilateral cooperation with key nations in the region.
The delegation includes prominent figures such as former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, and former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, among others. This diverse composition reflects a non-partisan approach and showcases India’s unified stance on international issues like terrorism.
Upon arrival in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, the delegation was warmly received by India’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Vinod K. Jacob. Their arrival marks the beginning of a multi-nation tour that will also include visits to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Algeria.
The delegation’s visit comes at a time when global concerns over terrorism, regional instability, and the need for enhanced security cooperation are at a peak. Through this mission, India aims to deepen its strategic engagement with West Asian nations not just in terms of security, but also in economic, energy, and diaspora-related areas.
One of the key objectives of the delegation is to reaffirm India’s position as a responsible global power committed to fighting terrorism in all its forms. Additionally, the visit is expected to open discussions on broader topics such as regional security, trade partnerships, energy cooperation, and the welfare of the Indian diaspora, which forms a significant part of the population in these Gulf nations.
Following Bahrain, the delegation will travel to Saudi Arabia, one of India’s most significant strategic partners in the Gulf region. There, discussions may involve cooperation in counter-terrorism operations, intelligence sharing, defense ties, and further investment in infrastructure and technology.
Kuwait and Algeria, the other two countries in the itinerary, are also critical to India’s foreign policy framework. Kuwait hosts a large Indian workforce, and strengthening diplomatic ties there is essential for both economic and humanitarian reasons. In Algeria, energy cooperation and multilateral relations through global forums are expected to be part of the discussions.
This multi-nation diplomatic outreach reflects India’s broader vision of establishing deeper global partnerships and asserting its role in ensuring peace and security in volatile regions.
