Munmun Dutta Remembers ‘OG Nattu Kaka’ Ghanshyam Nayak With a Precious Throwback
The actress, who has been entertaining audiences for more than 17 years, gained fame through the legendary show and became a popular name in households across the country.
Munmun Dutta, best recognised for her iconic portrayal of Babitaji in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, left her fans emotional through a heartfelt post on Instagram Stories. Sharing her feelings online, the actress paid her respects to the late Ghanshyam Nayak, who was adored for his role as Nattu Kaka. Posting a set of rare pictures from their shoot days, Munmun affectionately recalled him as one of her “favourite people.”
The actress, who has charmed viewers for over 17 years, rose to prominence through the show and became a familiar face in every household. On her Instagram Stories, Munmun posted three emotional throwbacks.
The first image shows Ghanshyam Nayak holding Munmun’s handbag as she strikes a pose for the camera. She captioned it, “Wow, I can’t believe what I found in my memories today,” and added, “Dilipji teasing adorable Ghanshyam uncle (Nattu Kaka) for holding my purse.”
In another moving post, she wrote, “He was one of my favourite people,” and added, “Grateful to technology for preserving such beautiful memories.” These nostalgic shares not only touched Munmun deeply but also brought a wave of emotions among fans. After her stories were shared, fans grew emotional as they remembered Nattu Kaka with love.
Ghanshyam Nayak, who earned fame for his role as Nattu Kaka in the hit comedy Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, passed away on October 3, 2021, at the age of 77, after a prolonged battle with cancer. The veteran artist had a distinguished career, appearing in nearly 100 Hindi and Gujarati films, along with over 300 television shows. Yet, he is best remembered for his unforgettable role in TMKOC.
As reported by Zee News, Ghanshyam Nayak even shot for a special episode of the serial while he was undergoing chemotherapy. He received the kind of farewell he had always wished for. In an interview with ETimes, his son Vikas shared, “We called a professional makeup artist to do his makeup after his passing, because he wanted to go with makeup on. And I must say, there was a divine calm on his face when his heartbeat stopped.”
Although Ghanshyam had forgotten his name during his last moments, he will always be remembered and celebrated by loyal TMKOC fans for his dedication and brilliant performances.
