A meeting of NDA leaders and MPs is taking place in Delhi. Nitish Kumar of the United Janata Dal, who participated in it, tried to touch Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s feet and bowed down.
The Lok Sabha elections were recently completed and the results were announced on June 4. Will Narendra Modi sit in the Prime Minister’s chair again this time? Or will the India alliance give a strong contest and take over the government? As the expectations intensified, the BJP-led NDA alliance faced tough competition from the beginning during the counting of votes.
Finally, the BJP alliance won 293 seats and the Congress-led India Alliance won 234 seats. Taking on the BJP cannot form a government with the help of Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam and Nitish Kumar’s United Janata Dal. These two parties have 33 constituencies of 17+16. Deducting this, the BJP alliance will get only 260 seats. 272 seats are required to get majority.
So now BJP is embracing Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam and Nitish Kumar’s United Janata Dal. Both parties have now started asking for key sectors in return. Therefore, there are reports that Chandrababu Naidu is demanding the post of Lok Sabha Speaker or the post of coordinator of the NDA alliance.
A meeting of the BJP-led NDA alliance was held in Delhi this morning. Nitish Kumar, who participated in this, was seated in the third place next to Modi. Prime Minister Modi intercepted Nitish Kumar, who came to take his seat after addressing the meeting, shook his hand and congratulated him. Nitish Kumar immediately touched Modi’s leg and tried to bow. But Modi denied this and suddenly grabbed Nitish’s hand and avoided it.
The incident has become a talking point in the political arena. In the past, Nitish Kumar had already faced the state assembly elections in alliance with the BJP. Since it did not get a majority, the BJP had to rule with favor. So the BJP grabbed the important ministerial posts.
So the tough Nitish left the BJP alliance. So the Congress and the Left supported him and made him the Chief Minister again. After this, Nitish formed an alliance against the BJP at the national level. That is what India as an alliance has been determined to date. However, within a few days, Nitish left the India alliance and shifted back to the BJP. This alliance continues till now.
While there are rumors that he will come back to the Congress side, the incident of Nitish trying to show his loyalty by holding the Prime Minister’s leg has created a stir.
