‘No Gangster Can Intimidate Me’: Punjab Congress Leader Alleges Life Threat to Son

Taking a dig at AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he claimed that Punjab has become a ‘gangster’s paradise’ under the AAP rule.

Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Friday accused imprisoned gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuriya of threatening the life of his son, alleging that an attack took place shortly after one of his associates paid a visit.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), the Congress leader wrote, “Jailed gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuriya has issued a death threat to my son. Today, one of my associates met him, and within an hour of leaving, he was shot at.”

He further alleged that Punjab has become a “gangster’s paradise” under the current AAP government, holding Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal responsible for the breakdown of law and order.

Randhawa, a former Punjab Cabinet Minister, raised questions about how long such violence and intimidation would continue in the state.

“I am presently in Delhi for the Parliament session – NO GANGSTER CAN INTIMIDATE ME. @BhagwantMann and @ArvindKejriwal have turned Punjab into a gangster’s paradise, where law and order has completely deteriorated,” he added.

Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa, also reposted Randhawa’s statement and criticised the AAP government in his remarks.

“A gangster behind bars is openly issuing threats to a senior @INCIndia leader, former Deputy CM, and sitting MP — this isn’t just a law and order lapse, it’s a clear reflection of the total breakdown of governance under @BhagwantMann and @ArvindKejriwal,” Bajwa wrote on X.

“If gangsters can terrorise elected leaders while in custody, what hope is there for ordinary citizens in Punjab? Is this the ‘badlav’ AAP had promised — a state ruled by criminals where people live in constant fear?” he further added.
