No Setback for Governor Due to Supreme Court Verdict – Annamalai
Speaking to reporters at Saligramam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu BJP State President K. Annamalai addressed several political and current issues.
He stated, “The Supreme Court’s verdict does not imply any setback for the Governor. His powers remain intact.” This comment comes in the context of ongoing administrative tensions between the Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi and the State Government.
Annamalai further emphasized the contribution of Kumari Ananthan in building the BJP in Tamil Nadu, saying, “If the party has grown step by step in Tamil Nadu, all credit goes to Kumari Ananthan.” He added that Ananthan’s life should be celebrated for his ideology, and criticized those who merely offered condolences while forgetting the principles he stood for.
He also confirmed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah would indeed visit Tamil Nadu, stating, “It is confirmed that Amit Shah is coming; the official reason for his visit will be announced tomorrow.” Clarifying speculation, he said, “His visit has no connection with any change in the State leadership.”
On the issue of NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), Annamalai supported the examination, asserting, “NEET has benefited students from the middle and socially backward classes. It ensures that merit is upheld.”
