On Cam: Disabled Man Dragged Out of Telangana Collector’s Office After Pleading for Road to His Home
A shocking incident from Telangana’s Jagtial has surfaced, showing a disabled man being forcibly removed from the Collector’s office during a public grievance session.
The man, identified as Raja Gangaram from Muthyampet village in Mallapur mandal, has been requesting a road to his home for the past eight years. He had earlier submitted his plea to Collector Satyaprasad, who had assured action. However, with no progress, Gangaram arrived at the Collector’s office and waited near the grievance area.
In the video, Gangaram is seen seated in his wheelchair in a crowded office when staff approach him. Two men try to pull his wheelchair forward while others push from behind, causing it to jerk and tilt dangerously. He clutches the armrest tightly as he is dragged out, visibly distressed.
The Collector is seen walking past during the incident, without intervening, while bystanders film the episode on their mobile phones. Officials later claimed that staff acted only after he refused repeated requests to move.
Following outrage, Telangana Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar directed officials to address Gangaram’s issue immediately and ensure that a road is constructed to his home without delay.
In a separate incident from Maharashtra’s Nagpur, a video emerged showing a man assaulting his father in front of his mother over a “family matter.” Though the father did not file a complaint, police traced the accused to Shanti Nagar.
