Prime Minister Modi is set to attend the Mauritius National Day celebrations next month.

Mauritius celebrates its National Day on March 12 every year. In this context, Prime Minister Modi has been invited to attend the country’s 57th National Day celebrations as the chief guest.

Earlier, Prime Minister Naveen Ramkoolam addressed the National Assembly of Mauritius the day before yesterday. Speaking at the time, he said, “I am very happy to inform the House that, in the context of the celebration of our country’s 57th Independence Day, I have agreed to attend the National Day celebrations as the chief guest. Prime Minister Modi’s visit is a testament to the close ties between our two countries,” Naveen Ramkoolam said.

It is noteworthy that Indian President Draupadi Murmu attended the National Day celebrations as the chief guest last year.
