The situation in West Bengal has become tense as violence has erupted again against the Waqf Amendment Act.
A protest held in Murshidabad, West Bengal, against the Waqf Amendment Act ended in violence a few days ago. Police vehicles were set on fire in the violence and three people were killed.
In this situation, the secular front launched a protest yesterday in the Bangar area of South 24 Parganas district. Secular front supporters went towards the Ramlila Maidan in central Kolkata to participate in it.
At that time, a clash broke out between the police and the secular front. In this, police vehicles parked there were set on fire and policemen were also attacked.
As the situation worsened, the police used mild baton charge to disperse the crowd. However, as the tense situation continues there, police have been deployed for security.
