Ram Mohan Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party, who was sworn in as a junior minister in the Modi 3.O cabinet, has been allotted the aviation department.
Narendra Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister for the third time yesterday after the BJP-led NDA coalition won the Lok Sabha elections and came to power. 72 MPs have been inducted with him as Cabinet and Ministers of State. Ram Mohan was sworn in as a young minister. In this case, he has been allotted the aviation department.
This is the first time that a 36-year-old MP has been sworn in as a minister in the NDA alliance. Ram Mohan Naidu, who completed his schooling in Delhi and an MBA in the US, received the Sunsat Ratna Award in 2020 for his outstanding work in Parliament. He was also a member of the Standing Committee of Agriculture, Food Processing, Railways and Home Affairs in the Parliament.
His father Yarran Naidu served as a Union Minister in the United Front coalition government between 1996 and 1998. Although Ram Mohan came from such a political family background, he was initially not involved in politics. His father’s death drew him into politics as a businessman. Yarran Naidu died in a road accident in 2012.
After that, Ram Mohan came to India and developed his closeness with the Telugu Desam Party. This closeness developed him as the National General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party. After that, he contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He won the election by a landslide and was elected MP at the age of 26.
After this, he stood in Srikakulam constituency and won by a margin of 3 lakh votes. This time he has been assigned the aviation department. It is noted that earlier this department Jyotir Aditya Scindia had held the post of minister of this department.
