Regrettable…Made From a Friendly Country: Govt Reacts to Asim Munir’s Anti-India Rant in US

India on Monday strongly condemned Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir’s recent nuclear threat made during his speech in Florida, terming it “regrettable” that such comments were made from the soil of a friendly third country.

Munir warned of “nuclear war” and vowed to “take down half the world” if Pakistan faced an existential threat in a future conflict with India. He said, “We are a nuclear nation. If we believe we are going down, we will take half the world down with us.”

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) dismissed the threats as yet another example of Islamabad’s “nuclear sabre-rattling,” and questioned the integrity of Pakistan’s nuclear command, given the military’s close ties with terrorist groups.

“Nuclear sabre-rattling is Pakistan’s stock-in-trade. The international community can draw its own conclusions on the irresponsibility inherent in such remarks,” the MEA said in a statement.
